Selling at the auction:

If you wish to or are considering submitting items for one of our auctions, please send us an e-mail at skanfil@skanfil.no. One of our staff members will contact you to make arrangements. We have several local offices in Norway, as well as in Uppsala, Sweden and Århus, Denmark.

Our Auction Describers will provide a valuation on the consignment, and we may then agree on a starting price. The items will then receive a description, be photographed, and put up for auction at the auction with the right audience and best price potential. Ahead of public auctions, all items are included in an auction catalogue and the auction is advertised. Public auctions also have showings prior to the auction date.

Our fee is 20-30% of the hammer price, depending on the nature, volume, and marketability of the consignment. The minimum auction fee is 50 NOK per item + VAT. Auction fees cover the cost of the sales process, that is; evaluation, description, photography, marketing, insurance etc.

The auction settlement will be processed around 5-6 weeks after the auction is over, this is owing to the auction post sale and any buyer returns or complaints.

Unsold items will be returned at the seller’s expense, sold at a 1 NOK starting price at one of our auctions, or the seller may choose that the item may be sold at the highest possible price with the proceeds donated to the Norwegian Cancer Society.

The auction your items will be sold at will be displayed on your consignment receipt. If your items are being sold in the online auction you can check the week number on the consignment list, you receive by e-mail.
